Update : 24 Mar 2014, 06:08 AM

A woman and her daughter have been slaughtered at their house in CDA Residential area of Chittagong’s Agrabadh.

The deceased were identified as Rizia Khatun, 47, and her daughter Saima Naznin. Saima was a SSC candidate of CDA Girl High School.

Police said Saima’s friend had come to pick her up around 10:40am in the morning for a practical exam. No one opened the door despite Saima’s friend’s repeated knock.

Later, the security guard broke down the door and found the bodies.

On information, Police recovered the bodies from a building in CDA Residential area and sent them to Chittagong Medical College morgue.

Saima’s elder brother Saif Reza said the incident might have taken place after he and his father Rezaul Karim left the house in the morning.

He claimed Raihan, a student of USTC university, had been harassing Saima for a long time and has killed them after being rejected for love affair.

Rezaul Karim has been hospitalised out of shock after getting the news of the incident.

Double Mooring police station Officer-in-Charge Motiul Islam said: “There was no sign of robbery. They might have been killed over previous enmity.”

He said: “They might have been killed sometime in between Sunday night to Monday morning.”

The OC said two security guards have been detained for interrogation regarding the matter.

However, police did not disclose the names of the guards for the sake of investigation.
