At least two youths were seriously injured in a bomb blast at a local Awami League leader’s house in Daganbhuiyan upazila under Feni district yesterday.
The injured were Saiful Islam, 28, and an unidentified youth aged around 26. Both were rushed to Feni Sadar Hospital after their injury.
The two were allegedly making bombs in the house at Satyapur village under Sindurpur union around 3:30pm when one of the bombs went off with a bang.
The house is owned by local Awami League leader Shahid Hossain Rana. Locals got panicked following the blast.
A doctor of the hospital Asim Kumar Saha said the injured received splinter injuries. They were referred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Officer-in-Charge of Daganbhuiyan police station Nizam Uddin confirmed the incident.He said they were trying to arrest the homeowner.
The bombs were being made for carrying out subversive activities in the upcoming upazila polls, added the police official.
