A pregnant woman was stabbed to death in Kapasia upazila in Gazipur district on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Minara Khatun, 25. She was six-month pregnant.
The incident took place at her husband’s house at Haola Banar village around 8pm.
Kapasia police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Moniruzzaman said: “She was stabbed centring a family feud.”
He said: “Minara’s husband Abu Hanif, his second wife Rohima Akhter and neighbour Shamim have been detained in connection to the murder.”
The SI said police recovered the body around 11pm and took it to Kapasia police station.
Later, it was sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for post mortem examination around 11am on Tuesday.
Our Jessore correspondent adds: A transport worker was stabbed to death and two others have been injured in an attack by miscreants at Pagladah village under Jessore sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Muktar Hossain, 35, son of Montaz Ali of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station Emdadul Haque Sheikh said: “They were injured when some armed men attacked them at Pagladah village around 11pm.”
“They were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared Muktar dead,” he said.
They injured are Bashir, 28 and Sabbir, 20.
