A mobile court has awarded six-month imprisonment to three people for casting fake votes in Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj on Wednesday afternoon.
They are Saiful Uddin, Suleman Mia and Sanowar Mia.
A mobile court led by Judicial Magistrate Abdur Rashid Milon passed the order and sent them to Habiganj jail.
Witnesses said law enforcers detained them while they were casting fake votes at a polling centre in Syed Sayed Uddin School and College in Nayapara area in the afternoon.
Madhabpur upazila UNO Sharmin Jahan confirmed the imprisonment to the Dhaka Tribune.
