Four of a family killed in road crash

Four family members were killed and two others injured as a truck collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Pachmile area under Gopalganj upazila in Sylhet yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Humayun, 35, his wife Salma Begum, 32, their son Raihan, 11, and Humayun’s mother Lal Banu, 65.

Sources said a truck had collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area on the Sylhet-Jakiganj road at 12:30pm, killing Humayun on the spot and injuring the others.

The injured were sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital where the three died.

Following the incident, locals blocked the road in the area.

On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.

UNO Asadul Haque and OC AKM Fazlul Haque Shibly visited the spot.
