Fire gutted several houses and 16 shops in separate incidents in Mymensingh and Chittagong, but no casualty was reported.
The damage caused by the fire was estimated around more than Tk2.6 crore.
Our Mymensingh correspondent reports a fire broke out at Kashiganj Bazar under Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh in the small hours of yesterday.
Ali Ahmed, inspector (investigation) of Tarakanda police station, said fire that originated from electric short circuit at Humayun’s paint shop around 1am and immediately engulfed adjacent areas and gutted 16 shops and several houses.
Three fire brigade units from Mymensingh and Netrokona put out the fire, said the OC.
Our Chittagong Correspondent reports, a fire gutted two houses at Failyatali Bazar of East Halishahar in the city on early yesterday.
