The deceased is Akbar Ali, 50, of Chapila.
Gurudaspur SI Motaleb said: “Akbar locked into an altercation with his son Mizanur Rahman's wife Selina Begum around 9pm on Thursday.
“At a stage of the quarrel, Selina stabbed Akbar on his chest with a sharp weapon. He died on the spot.”
He said Selina and her family members went into hiding soon after the incident.
Gurudaspur OC Dilip Kumar said police recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar morgue for autopsy around 10pm.
No case has been lodged in this connection, he added.
