The activists of the BNP-led 18-party alliance cut the tendons of a ruling party leader while launching an attack at a polling centre under Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah yesterday.
Officer-in-Charge of Moheshpur police station Akram Hossain said: “The activists of 18-party launched an attack on Dariapur Government Primary School polling centre and snatched the voting equipment in the afternoon.
During the time, they also cut the tendons of Ali Nur Rahman, secretary of Moheshpur unit AL. On the other hand, unidentified miscreants set ablaze at the house of Mohehspur municipality Jamaat Ameer Moqbul Hossain immediately after the incident.
