At least 10 public vehicles were vandalised and several crude bombs were blasted through separate areas of the port city on Sunday morning.
The incident took place during a nationwide blockade of the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
Blockade supporters brought out processions, blasted some bombs and vandalised vehicles. However, no major untoward incidents were reported.
Two vehicles were vandalised in Sagarika and Tin Poler Matha areas, witnesses said.
Two vehicles were vandalised in the port city’s Sholoshahar area in the morning, Panchlaish police Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Omar Faruque said.
One vehicle was smashed in Wasa intersection area and two others in Kazir Dewri, Kotwali police OC AKM Mohidul Islam said.
Three vehicles were vandalised, including CNG-run auto-rickshaws and human haulers, in CT Gate area, Akbar Shah police OC Abdul Mojid said.
Long-route buses and most of the inter-city buses were not plying in or out of the port city.
