Saboteurs uproot 71 feet of railway in Bogra

Unidentified saboteurs uprooted 71 feet of railway lines on the Bogra-Benapole route in the Chhatiantola area in Sadar upazila early on Thursday.

They have also uprooted some 12 feet rail lines of the same rail route in the Shahordighi area of the Sadar upazila.

Bogra Rail Station Super Belal Uddin said: “Some unidentified saboteurs, wearing masks, removed some 71 feet rail tracks at around 1am, this suspended the rail communications on the Bogra-Benapole route.

The repair work started at around 5am and the rail communications on the route resumed at around 9:30am, he added.

He said the law enforcers foiled another sabotage attempt in the same area on Wednesday evening.

The rail routes between Bogra-Lalmonirhat, Bogra-Kurigram, Bogra-Rongpur and Bogra-Gaibandha, were suspended from 1am to 10am.
