The High Court handed over one youth to police on Sunday for producing counterfeit certification in a bid to prove that his wife was not underage.
The bench of Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain handed over Sohel Rana to Shahbagh police for his actions in an abduction case.
Sohel allegedly fled with a girl and married her in Singra of Natore, prompting the girl’s father to file an abduction suit. However, the girl testified that she was not forced. Sohel failed to surrender to the court after a four-week anticipatory bail expired. He was handed over to police after he appeared before the court on Sunday.
