A newborn baby was recovered from a roadside dustbin on Monday morning in the city’s Mohammadpur area.
Locals located the baby boy, presumed to be two-three days old, in the dumpster earlier in the day around 8:30am.
Later, Mim, a resident of Mohammadpur, and her husband Nizamuddin recovered the baby and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10am.
Sub-inspector Abdul Hamid of the DMCH police camp confirmed the incident with the Dhaka Tribune.
The baby boy has been admitted to the children’s ward of DMCH.
The whereabouts of the baby’s parents could not immediately be confirmed.
