Police detained two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League allegedly for snatching a mobile phone from a university student on the Chittagong University campus on Sunday.
The detainees were Shameem Uddin Shameem, 1st year student of Dramatics, and Mizanur Ahmed Misu, first year student of Institution of Education and Research Training.
Campus sources said Abu Riad, masters’ student of political science department was chatting with his friend at the CU central library premises around 6:45 pm. Then suddenly the two accused youth came to the couple and stanched the cell phone after beating Riad.
Liyaqot Ali, officer-in-charge, Hathazari police station, said after receiving the victim’s complain police detained the alleged duo around 7:25pm.
