A passenger was held with 23kg gold at Dhaka airport on Wednesday night.
The passenger, who came from Singapore, is Ataul Mujib.
Dhaka Customs House Assistant Commissioner (preventive) HM Ahsanul Kabir confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said that Mujib landed in Dhaka airport from Singapore around 10:30pm. He was using a wheel chair.
Customs members challenged him while passing the green channel, and searching him they found 223 pieces of gold bars from a wrest belt, Kabir said, adding that market value of the gold would be around Tk11.5 crore.
