Two stabbed to death in Chittagong

Two people were stabbed to death in Pahartali and Nasirabad areas in Chittagong on Sunday.

A businessman was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Pahartali area in Chittagong early on Sunday. 

The deceased Tajul Islam Khokon, 30, a garments accessory importer and son of Hazi Abdul Khalek, resided in Mowsumi residential area under Pahartali police station of the district.

SM Azizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Pahartali police station, said unidentified miscreants stabbed the businessman sometimes at night and dumped the body in bus stand area.

A petrol team of Halishahar police station spotted the body of Khokon and informed them about the matter.

Quoting family members, the OC said he might had been killed over previous enmity.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of a dumb youth from the rail track in Nasirabad area in the port city. 

The deceased was Mamun, 20, son of Saber Ali of Railway Colony in Khulshi area in the city hailing from Barai upazila of Natore.

Police said locals found the body of Mamun on the railway track behind the Nasirabad Polytechnic Institution and informed police.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy.

Both the bodies bored several marks of stab injuries on chest, back and legs.

No cases were filed in this regard.
