Milky killing case: 6 accused on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed six people on seven-day remand each for their alleged involvement in the killing of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky.

They are: Zahid Siddiki alias Tarek, joint secretary of the same Jubo League unit of Dhaka South, and members Md Sujon, Rashed Mahmud, Saiful Islam, Tuhinur Rahman and Mushtak Ali.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim passed the order following a 10-day remand plea filed by Mohammad Sabbir Rahman, sub-inspector of Gulshan police station and also the investigation officer of a case filed in connection with the murder.

Milky's brother, Maj Rashidul Haque Khan filed a murder case with Gulshan police station on Tuesday night, accusing 11 people, including Zahid Siddiki, for the murder.

A group of armed men shot Milky at close range around 1:30am on Tuesday in front of Shoppers' World in the capital.

Rab 1 personnel arrested six, including Zahid Siddiki, from the city's Uttara a few hours after the incident. Later they were handed over to Gulshan police.

However, Siddiki was not produced before the court on Sunday due to his deteriorating medical condition, according to police sources.

He has been admitted to Fortune Hospital in Uttara, sources confirmed.
