Sramik League leader arrested in Gazipur

Lutfar is a suspect in a case filed for looting various vehicles and goods

A former ward Sramik League president has been arrested for instigating anarchy and destabilizing the garment sector in Gazipur. 

He was arrested on Friday morning from his residence on Bankers Road in the Shibbari Mor area of Gazipur. 

The arrestee was identified as Lutfar Rahman, 41, former No. 26 Sramik League ward president Gazipur. 

According to sources, a joint operation was conducted in the Shibbari intersection area of Gazipur town on a tip-off under the leadership of 14 Field Regiment Artillery Commander Lt Col Lutfar Rahman. 

During the time, Lutfar was arrested from his house on Bankers Road.

Basan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Alam said: "Lutfar has been shown arrested as a suspect in a case filed for looting various vehicles and goods seized by Gazipur Metropolitan Police from Naljani Damping Station during the movement."
