A gang of robbers attacked and looted three shops including a jewellery shop at Uchitpura bazaar, Araihazar upazila, Narayanganj early Saturday.
Sources said the gang, comprising of around 30 members, tied-up three night guards and looted the three shops. They robbed 20 tolas of gold, 150 tolas of silver, and an iron locker from Srabon Jewelry. They also looted Tk250,000 from a grocery shop and Tk20,000 and three mobile phone sets from a tailoring shop.
Police arrested one robber, named Ripon, from Mardasadi village.
Officer-in-charge of Araihazar police station, Akter Morshed, said a case would soon be filed.
