The law enforcers held a press conference in this connection on Sunday afternoon.

DB officials said they picked up the suspected militants from capital’s Mohammadpur, Jatrabari, Badda, Central Road, Elephant Road and Savar areas on basis of information provided by the Ansar Ullah Bangla Team chief, Jasim Uddin.

DB police recovered three laptops, two desktop computers, training manual containing sketches of various weapons and arms, nine modems, 25 CDs, one knife and four handcuffs from their possessions, said police.

Among the detainees, Junnun Sikder and Rezowan are the students of North South University.

DB officials said the detainees had close links with Bangladeshi youth Nafis, who has been jailed for 30 years in USA for planning a militant attack.

Officials of DB police claimed that the newly born organisation had been carrying out activities in four phases to establish Shariah based rule in the country by ousting the existing democratic government through an “armed revolution”.
