An auto-rickshaw driver was stabbed by muggers in the capital's South Keraniganj on Tuesday.
The injured is Md Kawsar, 27.
According to his wife, Maksuda Begum, muggers stabbed Kawsar and fled with his auto-rickshaw around 7am on Tuesday.
After stabbing Kawsar with a knife, the muggers threw him on the side of the road, said Maksuda.
Seeing him lying unconscious on the roadside, a passerby informed South Keraniganj Police Station about the matter.
Later, police went to the spot and sent Kawsar to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said Inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Emergency department of the hospital, said the police official.
