Two siblings were chopped to death allegedly by their elder brother over a land dispute in Sultanpur village, Raozan upazila, Chittagong, on Monday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Abu Sufian, 48, and his brother Abu Morshed, 35. Both are sons of the late Abdul Malek, from the same village.
Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Raozan police station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Abul Kalam and his two younger brothers Sufian and Morshed over a road by their house.
Sufian and Morshed picked a quarrel with Kalam over the issue around 11am on Monday.
Kalam hacked his two brothers with a sharp weapon, leaving them critically injured.
Sufian died on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, while doctors declared Morshed dead upon arrival.
Kalam went into hiding after the incident.
