Body stuffed in sack, dumped by roadside in Chittagong

Police recovered the body of a man from the roadside in the Chanpur Bazar Puran Ghat area of Banshkhali upazila in Chittagong on Friday.
The man was murdered before being stuffed into a sack and then dumped by the road, according to police.
The deceased was identified as Shah Alam, 40, from Baliakandi village under Daudkandi upazila of Comilla. He was the driver of a private car and lived with his family in the Beparipara area of Agrabad in Chittagong, Banshkhali police station Inspector (Investigation) Azizul Haque confirmed.
Police went to the Chanpur Bazar Puran Ghat area and recovered the body after being informed by locals. It is suspected that he was murdered else where before being disposed of by the road.
The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Family members of the deceased said Shah Alam had been missing for three days. He left home on Tuesday and went to Patiya with the owner of the car.
After Shah Alam went missing, the family filed a general diary with Kotwali police station in Chittagong.
They demanded punishment for those who were involved in the murder.
