Shuvo Mondal, son of Arman Mondal, was a class VII student at Islamia University Laboratory School and College.
Abul Hossain Mondal, grandfather of the deceased, filed a case with Islamia University police station.
Local sources said Shuvo had love affair with Trishna, daughter of Rashid Mridha, a resident of the same village for the last two years.
Over the issue, Rahsid Mridha and his brothers – Razzak Mirdha, Jahid Mridha and Uthan Mridha – beat Shuvo indiscriminately and later left him on a road in a critical state.
Later, local people took him to Kushtia General Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
Superintendent of Police Proloy Chisim told the Dhaka Tribune that they were looking in the matter.
