Police on Wednesday arrested a young man for raping a housewife at her home in Bogra's Adamdighi upazila.
The arrestee, Emran Hossain, was arrested from Jinoir village of the upazila.
Adamdighi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rezaul Karim Reza said that the court sent Emran Hossain to Bogra jail in the afternoon.
According to police sources, accused Emran Hossain entered the rape survivor's house to drink water on Tuesday morning. Finding her alone at home, Emran raped her and ran away.
When the husband returned home in the evening, the rape survivor informed him about the rape.
The husband filed a case against Emran at the Adamdighi police station on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, police conducted a raid in Jinoir village and arrested Emran, the OC said.
She was sent to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMC) for medical examination.
Later she recorded her statement at the court, he added.
