Detective Branch (DB) of police Monday night rounded up 12 men in the capital for their alleged involvement in firearms peddling.
In the nightlong drive, 10 firearms and 61 rounds of bullet were recovered, police said.
The detained men had been taken to the DB office.
Additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Nasima Akter, confirmed journalists about the detention and the arms recovery.
On May 23, seven people were detained from the capital’s Mohammadpur area with seven pistols and 70 rounds of live bullets.
Police said the illegal arms dealers and peddlers had become active before the upcoming national elections.
