The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested top criminal Riazul Islam alias “Shooter Riaz” along with four accomplices from Narayanganj.
Other arrestees are Md Zahidul Islam alias Kala Bhagina, 23, Maruf Hossain Munna, 23, Md Salim, 23, and Md Mahbub Mia, 23. They are residents of Rupganj and Sonargaon areas of the district.
RAB members also seized three foreign pistols, magazines, bullets and yaba from their possessions.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted drives in different areas and arrested them.
Khandaker Al Moin, director commander of RAB Legal and Media Wing, briefed the media on the arrests at its Karwan Bazar office on Thursday.
A case was filed with Narayanganj Sadar police station following the arrests.
