Sumon, an accused in a case lodged over the sensational murder of Shahinuddin in capital’s Pallabi area on May 16, gave confessional statement before a court on Monday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari recorded his statement under Section 164 as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to record his statement, reports BSS.

The court later sent the accused to jail.
Shahinuddin was mercilessly hacked to death in broad daylight on May 16 in front of his son. His mother Aklima Begum filed the case with Pallabi Police Station on May 17.
According to the case statement, MA Awal, former lawmaker from Lakshmipur-1 constituency, hired a group of miscreants to kill Shahuddin over a land dispute.

Law enforcement agencies have so far apprehended seven out of the 20 named accused in the case, claimed DB ADC Md Ahsan Khan.
Also, two of the accused in Shahinuddin murder case – Md Manik and Md Monir – have been killed "gunfights" with RAB and police in Dhaka.
The newly-remanded three accused are Mohammad Titu, 30, Iqbal Noor, 21, and Mohammad Sharif, 20.
Operations have been going on to catch the other perpetrators, police told BSS.
