The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a man from Jessore’s Poura Park area with 20 gold bars worth Tk 1.64 crore.
The arrestee, Imadul Hossain, 26, a resident of Benapole's Uttar Kagojpur, was arrested on Monday morning around 6am, confirmed BGB sources.
“The man was carrying four packets containing gold bars weighing 2.33 kilograms,” said Lt Col Md Selim Reja, commander of BGB-49 Battalion.
“The gold bars were going to be smuggled to India,” added the officer.
