Police arrested a 14-year-old boy from Bagerhat’s Rakhalgachhi yesterday for raping a three-year-old girl.According to the victim's mother, she left the toddler at home to get some chores done on Wednesday afternoon.The accused, a neighbour, took her inside his house promising to give her a mobile phone to play with, and raped her.The toddler, who can barely speak properly, told her mother that she had been hurt by the boy.The victim was admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital on Thursday.Doctors said the victim was bleeding profusely when admitted to the hospital. She is, however, recovering now.Even though the victim’s family alleged that she had been raped, the case was filed with Sadar police station on Friday for attempted rape.Sadar police Officer-in-Charge Mahtab Uddin said that they would send the accused to the court for further action.
