DB police catch two persons with counterfeit notes worth Tk10 lakh

The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested two men with Tk10 lakh of counterfeit notes from Moghbazar area on Wednesday night. “Acting on a lead, a Serious Crime Investigation unit captured the two from Moghbazar around 7:00pm. The detained are- Habibur Rahman, 60, and Abu Bakkar, 35,” said DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Yusuf Ali. The authorities, however, decided not to disclose the news to media until Thursday afternoon, said DMP sources. Police recovered 1000 counterfeit notes of Tk1000 denomination from their possession. A case was lodged with Ramna Police Station under the Special Powers Act in this regard.
