The police and Dhaka Education Board authorities detained a teacher and a student for attempting to circulate answers to examinees during a HSC examination.
A mobile court has given an order to put them in jail on Wednesday.
The duo are- Sifat Jasmine Nur, is a teacher from a private college in Dhaka, and Mehedy Hassan, a student of the same college.
The mobile court has found evidence that Sifat and Mehedy received the question papers from a Facebook page “RJ Rahat” and were preparing answers for examinees.
Jamal Uddin Mir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur police station, confirmed the news to the Dhaka Tribune and said: “Sifat and Mehedy were trying to send the answers to HSC biology questions via text messages from a restaurant in Lalmatia.”
Sifat and Mehedy were handed over to a mobile court led by Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain.
After an interrogation, the magistrate sentenced Sifat to two years and Mehedy to one month of imprisonment.
