Minor boy allegedly killed by drowning

A team of Fire Service recovered the body of Rafin Ahmed,11, son of UAE expatriate Sultan Mia of Rajapur at Baktabali in Fatullah, from the river near Baktabali market area on Monday, said Fatullah police. Mujibur Rahman, maternal grandfather of Rafin, said quoting two witnesses that a 15-year old boy Wahid of the same area pushed Rafin under water several times over a dispute between them, and at one stage the victim was lost under water. The incident took place while Rafin, Wahid and several other boys of the locality were bathing in the river near Baktabali market on Sunday afternoon. Kamal Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatullah police station, said Mujibur had lodged a complaint against Wahid in this connection to file a murder case. After investigation, police would take decision about filing of the case, said Kamal.
