2 alleged drug peddlers held in Hili

Police recovered 15 yaba pills and 100 grams of marijuana in the same drive

Police has arrested two drug peddlers during separate drives in Hili, Dinajpur. 

They were arrested in the Kaliganj and Churipatti areas of Hili on Thursday night.

The arrestees have been identified as Sajal Hossain, 20, son of Abu Sayeed; and Asmat Ali, 50, son of the late Amir Uddin Mollah.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune Hakimpur police station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said: "Responding to a tip-off we conducted drives in the Kaliganj and Churipatti areas of Hili on Thursday night.

"We arrested Sajal Hossain with 15 yaba pills and Asmat Ali with 100 grams of marijuana during separate drives."

"A case had been filed against both of them. Later, on Friday afternoon, the court ordered them to be sent to Dinajpur Jail. Necessary steps will be taken upon further investigation," he added.
