Woman claims Ashkona bomber as her son, RAB denies

A day after a suicide attack at RAB's Ashkona barrack in Dhaka, a woman has claimed that the bomber is her son. But after primary interrogation, RAB denied the claim. “Amiran of Pirojpur was seen crying Saturday morning in front our barrack, where an attacker blew himself up yesterday,” RAB spokesperson Mufti Mahmud Khan told the Dhaka Tribune.

“She claims the attacker was her son, who went missing five days ago,” he added. “After grilling her, we are sure the attacker is not her son. But we are looking further into it for confirmation regarding her claim,” RAB 1 CO Sarwar Bin Kashem said. Meanwhile, the autopsy of the attacker was completed at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the morning. Doctors confirmed he died in the explosion. A suicide bomber trespassed into the RAB barrack crossing the wall during Jumma prayers and blew himself up Friday afternoon. Two RAB officials were also injured in the attack.
