The Awami League has expelled its upazila unit publicity secretary Ruhul Amin, following his recent arrest in a gang rape case in Noakhali.
The suspended ruling party leader had also formerly served as a member of Ward 4 under Charjubili union of Subarnachar upazila in the district.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, upazila Awami League President Advocate Omar Faruq said the decision to suspend Ruhul was taken at an emergency meeting on Friday night.
“Awami League has expelled Ruhul Amin from all organization activities of this party because of his immoral activities,” Omar Faruq said.

Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Charjubili union Chairman Hanif Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Advocate Abdul Bashar and Vice-President Sana Ullah were present at the emergency meeting, among many others.
