Man held with 8 gold bars at Ctg airport

The customs officials detained a person along with eight gold bars worth around Tk40 lakh at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong. The detainee Md Morshed, a resident of Chittagong’s Hathazari upazila, arrived at the airport on Thursday from Muscat on an US-Bangla Airlines flight. Md Kamrul Islam, assistant commissioner of Chittagong Customs, said that they caught the passenger when he was crossing the green channel of the airport. Later, a total of eight gold bars weighing 928 grams were seized from his possession. A case was lodged with Patenga police station in this regard.
