Charges have been brought against young men for gang-raping a housewife in Savar with the excuse of providing her with a job.
On Saturday afternoon, the police detained four men due to their involvement in the rape case.
The perpetrators from the Kaliakair village are-Billal Hossain (30), Al-amin (32), Rafij(25) and Hanif (24).
Allegedly, the incident happened on Friday night at Al-amin’s house located in the Birulia Union of Kaliakair village of Savar.
The police and local sources informed that the housewife resides in a rented house at the Kaliakair area with her husband and had been searching for a job at a garments factory for quite some time.
On Friday night, Billal Hossain, a neighbor, took her to another neighbor Al-amin’s place in the name of giving her a job. Thereafter, the four men tied up her mouth and one by one inflicted inhuman torture upon her in the house.
The perpetrators also warned her not to inform anyone about the matter.
On Saturday morning, the housewife herself became the plaintiff and filed a case at the Savar Model Thana.
Jakaria Hossain, OC (Operation) and an inspector at the Savar Model Thana attested to the case and affirmed the fact that the four men have been detained for this rape allegation.
