Four children from Dhaka’s Mirpur area have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after allegedly being molested on Friday.
A grocery shopper by the name of Iqbal had allegedly abused three children bringing them inside his store while they were returning home after school on Thursday.
“Two of the victims were twin sisters aged around three-and-a-half years and the other was their cousin aged around four years,” said the twins' mother.
“I went to talk to Iqbal when the children explained everything to my wife but he completely ignored me,” told the twins' father.
“Then we contacted Pallabi police station and they told us bring the children to DMCH,” he added.
All three children were admitted to the One-stop Crisis Centre (OCC) at DMCH on Friday evening.
Pallabi police station OC Dadon Fakir told the Dhaka Tribune that the culprit was on the run after the incident.
“A case has been filed against the culprit and we have been trying to arrest him,” said the OC.
Another two-year child was allegedly molested and later taken to DMCH on Friday.
“Someone had molested my child while I was busy cooking at an under construction building in Mirpur 2 on Friday,” said the victim’s mother.
