A third-grader has been raped allegedly by a 35-year-old man at Kashiani in Gopalganj district.
According to local sources, Khokon Molla, 35, son of Abdur Sattar Molla of Kadirpara village tried to harass the girl sexually.
On Friday night, he entered the house of the girl in a per-planned way and covered her face with a scarf. He took the girl to nearby bamboo bush forcefully and there he raped her.
Hearing screaming of the girl, her mother went to the spot and rescued her in critical condition.
Khokon managed to flee the scene.
On Saturday morning, the mother filed a rape case with Kashiani police station.
Investigation Officer SI Ratan Boiragi said Khokon was arrested.
The victim was sent to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital, he added.
