The military chief of New JMB’s Rajshahi divisional unit has been killed in a gunfight with police at Jamnagar village under Sherpur upazila of Bogra.
Amizul Islam alias Al Amin, 23, was the son of Darul Huda of Bujruk Rajarampur village under Godagari of Rajshahi.

"We detained Amizul from Rajshahi on Tuesday night and brought him here," said the OC. "His associates opened fire on us in a bid to snatch him when we were conducting a drive at Jamnagar village along with the detainee around 3am on Thursday.”
In retaliation, police fired back, leaving Amizul dead while the others managed to flee the scene.
The OC claimed that they had recovered a pistol, three rounds of bullets and two magazines from the spot.
