A minor girl with speech impairment has allegedly been raped in Savar.
The incident took place on Saturday night at the victim’s rented house, at Joynabari area of Savar's Hemayetpur
Police on Sunday arrested the accused Khairul Islam, 42, a transport worker. The victim was taken to the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The victim’s mother works in a garments factory and was not at home at the time. Khairul found the girl alone in the house and allegedly raped her.
The neighbors rescued the girl and caught Khairul. The victim's mother after coming from work, notified the Savar Model police station about the matter.

He said: "On receiving information, police arrested the transport worker and brought him to the station."
He also said the girl's father Abdul Hai filed a case against the accused in Savar model police station.
