An assistant sub-inspector of Pirojpur district detective police has been hacked allegedly by drug dealers in Dhuppasha-Dumuritola area of the district town.
“The ASI, Md Moinuddin, was hacked with a machete by drug dealers during an anti-narcotics drive in the area on Wednesday night,” the district’s Additional Police Superintendent Ahmad Mainul Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune on Thursday morning.
“Later, the ASI was taken to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital,” he added.
Doctors said the ASI needed 10 stitches for the injuries to his right hand.
