A man has allegedly strangled three siblings to death and stabbed his elder brother in Narsingdi following a dispute over family properties, police and family members say.
The bodies of Yasin, 10, Mariam, 8, and Marzia, 6, were recovered from their Alokbali Purbo Para house Wednesday morning.
Family members claimed 23-year-old Rubel Mia killed his younger siblings late Tuesday night.
He stabbed his elder brother Atikur Rahman, 27, when the latter tried to save his siblings.
Atikur is being treated at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
Sadar model police station Additional Sub-Inspector Matabbor said that they suspected the children had been strangled to death.
"We have detained Rubel," he said.
