Private clinic director held for allegedly raping nurse

Police have arrested the director of a private hospital in Natore on charges of blackmailing a nurse after allegedly filming a rape incident. The detained director was identified as Shafiul Alam Bablu, director of Al Sun Hospital at Boroharishpur area in Natore town. Following a complaint filed by the victim, police arrested Bablu on Saturday night and seized the video clip in question, said Sikder Moshiur Rahman, OC of Natore Sadar police station. The victim's family members said Bablu recently called the nurse to his room, where he raped her and filmed the incident. Later, he raped her several times and blackmailed her into silence by threatening to publish the video on the internet. At one stage, the victim informed her family about the incident and filed a complaint with the police station, the OC added.
