50-year-old man rapes three-year-old baby in Tangail

A 50-year-old man in Tangail has been accused of raping a three-year-old toddler. The incident took place in Belta village under Porabari union in Tangail Sadar upazila on Wednesday. The child was admitted to the gynaecology division of Tangail General Hospital on Thursday. Police arrested the accused, Samad Ali, on the same day. According to family sources, Samad summoned the survivor via another child on Wednesday afternoon to his place, where he allegedly raped her. The child's family started to look for her when she did not return home. Later, they found her crying in wet clothes at Samad’s house, her grandmother told the Dhaka Tribune. “I want justice and punishment for the culprit,” she added. When locals came to know about the matter, they assured the family of taking actions against Samad. Zakia Rashid from the gynaecology department of Tangail General Hospital told the Dhaka Tribune: “The three-year-old child was admitted to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. We examined her, and now she is well.” Tangail Model police station OC Sayedur Rahman said: “Samad was arrested after the police raided his house. A case has been filed.”
