Zafar Iqbal's attacker identified as local youth

The young man who stabbed author, academic Prof Zafar Iqbal on Saturday afternoon has been identified by the police. He is Faizul, a resident of Sylhet city's Shahartali area in Sheikhpara, which is close to the Shahjalal University campus. His father is a madrasa teacher from Dhirai, Sunamganj, said Jalalabad police Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam on Saturday night. Faizul is a hawker. He was a madrasa student, the OC said. He stabbed Prof Zafar Iqbal at the stage of an event at the Shahjalal University on Saturday afternoon.
