Man held for raping housemaid in Tangail

Police have detained a man for raping his 13-year-old housemaid from Elenga upazila, Tangail. Khalilur Rahman, 50, who runs a crockery shop in Kalihati municipality, was detained from the Elenga bus stand area on Monday afternoon, said Kalihati police station Officer-in-Charge Mir Mosharraf Hossain. Khalilur allegedly raped the housemaid at his residence in Betdoba area of the municipality on Friday. No one else from Khalilur's family was at the house at that time, according to the victim's father. A case will be filed regarding the incident, he added. The victim underwent treatment at Kalihati Upazila Health Complex.
