Two men, who have been killed in a gunfight with Detective Branch members in Dhaka, were accused in the murder of Banani businessman Siddique Hossain Munshi, police claim.
The men have been identified as ‘Pichchi’ Al Amin and Saddam.
DMP's Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman said a DB team had raided Aftabnagar to arrest the duo acting on a tip-off on early Friday.
“The men opened fire on the DB team, leading to a skirmish that left them seriously wounded,” he said.
Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital pronounced them dead when they were taken there.
Recruiting agency owner Siddique was killed in Banani on November 14. One of the alleged killers, a Chhatra Dal leader, had reportedly told investigators that they were hired by an expatriate Bangladeshi to carry out the murder.
