Police on early Wednesday arrested the prime accused in a case filed over the murder of Manarat International University student Nasim Ahmed.
The arrestee, Ashik, 21, was captured in Comilla, and a bloodstained knife reportedly used to commit the murder was recovered from his possession, said Badda police station Officer-in-Charge Quazi Wazed Ali.
Nasim , a 24-year-old second-year BBA student, was stabbed to death by a group of three to four miscreants in Dhaka’s Middle Badda area on Monday, November 6.

The victim's father said Nasim had locked into an altercation with a local youth, Ramzan, over betting on a BPL cricket match around 9pm on November 5.
Subsequently, the miscreants attacked Nasim when he went to a shop at the Post Office lane of Middle Badda around 9:30am the following day.
Nasim succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
