A Bihari youth was stabbed to death by his rival men at a wedding ceremony in Chittagong city’s Halishahar area on Sunday night over previous rivalry, said police.
The youth was identified as Faisal Islam alias Bagha, 26, son of Ferdous, also a resident of Halishahar Bihari colony, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Yunus Mia of Halishahar police station.
“Police arrested two youths-Jewel and Alauddin- in connection with the murder,” said the SI.
The police official told the Dhaka Tribune that Faisal had been longstanding rivalry with a group of Bihari youths at his area. An altercation ensued between them at a wedding party in Halishahar B-Block residential area on Sunday night, triggering scuffle.
At one point of the scuffle, the rival men stabbed Faisal with sharp weapon leaving him dead on the spot while police recovered his body being informed, told the SI.
Later police arrested the duo in this connection from Halishahar area, the SI said adding that the body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy.
A case was lodged in this connection.
